Q: What results should I expect from using Eleusian products?
A: Regular use of Eleusian over a period of time should produce the following effects for either dry, experienced, sensitive skin OR normal/combination skin:

Q: What is an essential oil?
A: Eleusian formulations utilise the powerful and regenerative properties of essential oils. An essential oil is the most refined, active and efficacious extract from the plant. It is literally the lifeblood of the plant and is therefore the most effective at nourishing and rejuvenating the skin.

Essential oils are subtle, volatile liquids distilled from plants, shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes and seeds. They are highly concentrated natural plant extracts that act as the blood of the plant, generated and stored by the plant in special cells, protecting it from bacterial and viral infections and cleansing breaks in its tissue.

Their oxygenating molecules effectively transport nutrients to the cells of the body. A nutritional deficiency in the body is often caused by an oxygen deficiency. Therefore, the oxygenating molecules can help the body receive and assimilate nutrients to maintain health.

Essential oils are different from vegetable oils in that they are not greasy and do not clog the pores like vegetable and other oils can.

Q: What grade of essential oils does Eleusian use?
A: The essential oils in Eleusian products are all therapeutic grade and are graded according to the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the Association French Normalization Organization Regulation (AFNOR). This standard is more stringent and differentiates true therapeutic grade essential oils from similar Grade A oils with inferior chemistry.

Q: What is the definition of organic?
A: Organic means that the ingredients come from plants that have been cultivated in a very specific manner - where no artificial fertilisers or synthetic pesticides have been used and where the fertility of the soil has been carefully nurtured.

Recent research suggests that plants grown organically contain significantly more vitalising nutritional compounds than those grown by conventional (chemical based) methods.

Q: How do I know that all herbal extracts used by Eleusian are organic?
A: The organic plants used in Eleusian formulations all carry a certificate guaranteeing their organic origin. The certificates have been issued by independent certification agencies that have been accredited by the International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements (IFOAM) and The National Association For Sustainable Agriculture, Australia, Ltd (NASAA). Eleusian maintains files for the certification of all organic raw materials.

Q: What is an anti-oxidant?
A: Free radicals, which are triggered by environmental factors such as sunlight, smoking and pollution, disrupt the skin's metabolism and undermine fibroblasts, which make smooth, supportive collagen and elastin tissue. Eleusian uses Vitamin A and E, Essential Oils and Green Tea as anti-oxidants which act as free radical scavengers and are necessary to protect that skin's natural defences.

Q: Why does Eleusian Skin Care use dark containers?
A: Direct sunlight can dissipate the therapeutic qualities in the naturally occurring actives in Eleusian, Therefore dark containers act as an added insurance to maintain benefits and purity.

Q: Why use dark plastic packaging for some of your products when it's a Natural and Organic Product?
A: The materials in the plastics packaging have been carefully chosen for their environmental performance. when disposed of in a regular recycling system. When properly disposed of in a regular recycling disposal, the plastic will either be recycled and used in low grade plastics or it will be burnt, transforming the plastic into CO2 and water.

Q: What is the shelf life of the products?
A: All products have a shelf life of 2 years if unopened. When opened and used correctly, (ensuring lids/caps are replaced properly) the shelf life is approximately 12-18 months.

Q: Do any of your products contain sunscreen?
A: To maintain the natural purity of our skincare formulations, our products do not contain any sunscreens.

Q: Can I use Eleusian Skin Care products if I am pregnant?
A: The essential oil percentages are within limits that are safe during pregnancy. As with any products, we do recommend that you check with your obstetrician before testing or using. Q: Do Eleusian products contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate?
A: Eleusian does not use any sulphates, and in particular does not use Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.
